A Mobile developer has pleaded guilty to receiving high-end antiques and heirlooms stolen from wealthy homes in Mobile and Baldwin counties.

Sixty-year-old Matthew Boykin Walker pleaded guilty Thursday in Mobile to four counts of receiving stolen property. He faces up to 20 years in prison on each count when he is sentenced Dec. 9.

Mobile County Sheriff’s deputies had to be shaking their heads in near disbelief as they entered to search two west Mobile houses last October. They were awash in stolen goods, including, antiques, appliances, fireplaces, staircases and even an elevator.

There was also expensive art along with a large silver bowl bearing an engraving suggesting it was a gift from President Dwight D. Eisenhower to then-Sen. John F. Kennedy on his wedding day.
