Former W.S. Neal High School teacher and coach Jason Paul Blaney faces multiple charges due to alleged sexual misconduct involving students at the East Brewton, Alabama school.
According to deputies of the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, the initial complaints came from the parents of a student on March 30, 2017. Weeks later in April 2017, Blaney resigned from the Escambia County School System following an 8 year career as a math teacher and coach. Blaney was head coach for girl’s volleyball and soccer and even lead the school’s volleyball team to their first area title win this past season.
On May 26, 2017 Blaney was arrested due to being charged with inappropriate sexual contact with a child under the age of 19 while employed with the school district. That same day, Blaney was brought before a judge and was released after making a $10,000 bond.
